Principle:
A revolutionary piece of equipment, the vacuum rake dryer operates as a horizontal, intermittent vacuum drying system. The wet material dries through conduction, while a dynamic scraper agitator cleans and circulates material over the heated surface. The moisture evaporates and is evacuated through a vacuum pump, making it especially favored in the chemical sector for drying organic semi-finished products and fuels.
The vacuum rake dryer's steam jacket ensures indirect heating and effective gas exhaustion under high vacuum. This method is perfect for materials that cannot withstand high temperatures, are easily oxidized, or produce powder during drying. It's also ideal for situations where vapor or solvent recovery is critical. In this dryer, the moisture or solvent content of materials can range from as high as 90% to as low as 15%, with final moisture levels after drying reaching an impressive 0.1%, or even 0.05%-suitable for slurry, paste, granular, powdery, or fibrous materials.
Materials are introduced through the top center of the shell, where rotating harrow teeth agitate them, continuously renewing the surface in contact with the heated shell wall. This indirect steam heating causes moisture gasification, efficiently removed by the vacuum pump. Dual heating via interlayer and harrow teeth maximizes efficiency. With high operating vacuum, the surface water vapor pressure is greater than that in the drying chamber, facilitating moisture expulsion and enhancing the efficiency of the drying process.
