The disc continuous dryer is a highly efficient, conductive continuous drying solution. Operational Principle:
Wet materials are continuously fed from the top onto the first layer drying plate, where rake arms with blades keep the materials in constant motion. This ensures an even flow of material through the drying trays in an exponential spiral pattern. The materials transition between alternating small and large drying trays, steadily moving through the dryer.
The hollow drying plates are filled with various heating mediums such as saturated steam, hot water, thermal oil, or high-temperature molten salt. These mediums enter and exit at opposite ends of each drying plate. The final dried material is collected at the bottom layer and transported to the discharge port. Moisture is extracted and expelled through top-mounted dehumidification or vacuum ports, enabling straightforward packaging. The addition of auxiliary equipment like finned heaters, solvent recovery condensers, bag filters, pre-dryers, and draft fans can enhance drying capacity and facilitate operations like solvent recovery, heating, cooling, calcination, sublimation, pyrolysis, and reactions.
