Principle:
The vacuum rake dryer is an innovative, horizontal, intermittent vacuum drying apparatus. It operates by conduction, where wet materials undergo evaporation. The scraper agitator ensures continuous cleaning of material on the hot surface, promoting a cyclic flow within the container. As the material undergoes drying, moisture evaporates and is efficiently removed via a vacuum pump - a prevalent choice for organic semi-finished and fuel drying processes in the chemical industry.
The steam jacket within the vacuum rake dryer heats materials indirectly and expels gases under high vacuum conditions, making it particularly suitable for temperature-sensitive, easily oxidizable, or powder-forming substances. It excels in drying operations where vapor or solvent recovery is paramount. An impressive moisture or solvent content range from 90% to as low as 15% is possible.
