It is particularly ideal for drying paste materials sensitive to high temperatures, flammable, and easily oxidized under regulated temperatures.
Principle:
The vacuum rake dryer is an innovative horizontal intermittent vacuum drying system. It evaporates wet materials through conduction, with a scraper agitator continuously cleaning the hot surface material. The material circulates within the container, and the evaporated moisture is extracted by a vacuum pump. This dryer is extensively used in the chemical industry for drying organic semi-finished products and fuels.
The steam jacket in the vacuum rake dryer indirectly heats the material and expels gas under high vacuum conditions. This makes it ideal for materials that are heat-sensitive, easily oxidized, or prone to forming powder during drying (e.g., various fuels). The dryer effectively recovers vapors or solvents removed during the process. The moisture content of the dried material can vary from 90% to as low as 15%, with the final dried material reaching moisture levels as low as 0.1% or even 0.05%. Suitable for slurry, paste, granular, powdery, or fibrous materials.
Materials are introduced from the upper middle section of the shell. Under the continuous agitation of rotating harrow teeth, the materials come into contact with the shell wall, constantly renewing their surfaces. The materials are indirectly heated by steam, leading to moisture vaporization, which is promptly extracted by a vacuum pump. The system allows simultaneous heating of both the interlayer and harrow teeth. The high operational vacuum ensures the water vapor pressure on the material surface is significantly higher than in the evaporating space of the dryer shell, facilitating efficient moisture discharge and achieving optimal drying.
