Principle:
The vacuum rake dryer is an innovative horizontal intermittent vacuum drying equipment. It operates by evaporating wet materials through conduction. The scraper agitator consistently cleans the material on the hot surface, promoting a circulating flow within the container. The evaporated water is then efficiently removed by a vacuum pump. This dryer is notably used in the chemical industry for drying organic semi-finished products and fuels.
The steam jacket in the vacuum rake dryer indirectly heats the material and exhausts the gas under high vacuum. This feature makes it ideal for materials that are heat-sensitive, prone to oxidation at high temperatures, or tend to produce powder during drying, such as various fuels. It is also suitable for drying operations where the vapor or solvent removed must be recovered. The moisture or solvent content of the dried material can range from 90% to as low as 15%. The dryer can handle slurry, paste, granular, powdery, or fibrous materials, achieving moisture content as low as 0.1% or even 0.05% after drying.
The drying process involves adding the material from the top center of the shell, where rotating harrow teeth continuously agitate it. The material's surface is constantly renewed as it contacts the shell wall, allowing for efficient indirect heating by steam. The vaporized moisture is promptly removed by a vacuum pump. The machine can simultaneously heat via the interlayer and harrow teeth.
