The disc continuous dryer is a highly efficient and conductive drying equipment, distinguished by its unique structure and operational principle. Operational Principle:
Wet materials are continuously fed from the feeder to the first layer drying plate at the top of the dryer. The rake arm with rake blades rotates, persistently flipping the materials. The material flows across the drying tray surface in an exponential spiral. On smaller drying trays, materials are transferred to the outer edge, descending to the larger drying trays below. Here, materials move inward, falling through the central feeding port into the next layer of smaller drying trays, creating a continuous flow through the entire dryer.
The hollow drying plate is infused with heating mediums such as saturated steam, hot water, thermal oil, or high-temperature molten salt. These mediums enter from one end of the drying plate and exit from the other. The dried materials fall from the final drying tray to the aggregate tray and are eventually transported by rake blades to the discharge port. Moisture is released from the materials and expelled through a dehumidification port on the top cover. For vacuum disc dryers, the moisture is extracted via a vacuum port on the top cover. The dry materials discharged from the bottom layer are ready for direct packaging. The production capacity can be enhanced by integrating auxiliary equipment like finned heaters, solvent recovery condensers, bag filters, pre-dryers, and induced draft fans. This setup facilitates easy recovery of solvents and supports a variety of operations including heating, cooling, calcination, sublimation, pyrolysis, and reaction processes.
