Principle:
The vacuum rake dryer is an innovative horizontal intermittent vacuum drying system. Wet materials are evaporated by conduction, with a scraper agitator continuously cleaning the hot surface and facilitating material movement within the container, creating a circulating flow. The evaporated water is then efficiently pumped out by a vacuum pump. This system is extensively used in the chemical industry for drying organic semi-finished products and fuel.
The device's steam jacket indirectly heats the materials and exhausts gas under high vacuum, making it highly suitable for heat-sensitive, easily oxidizable materials or those that produce powder during drying (e.g., various fuels). The system also excels in drying operations requiring recovery of vapor or solvents. The moisture or solvent content of materials dried with this system can range from as high as 90% to as low as 15%, with the final moisture content after drying reaching as low as 0.1% or even 0.05%. It is capable of handling materials in slurry, paste, granular, powdery, or fibrous forms.
Materials are introduced from the middle upper part of the shell. The continuously rotating rake teeth ensure that the material surface is consistently renewed when it contacts the shell wall, leading to indirect heating by steam. This effectively vaporizes the material's moisture, which is promptly evacuated by a vacuum pump. The machine can heat both the interlayer and the rake teeth simultaneously, enhancing the drying process. The high operating vacuum promotes effective discharge of moisture, facilitating the movement of water molecules within and on the surface of the material to achieve optimal drying results.
