It is especially ideal for drying paste materials that are heat-sensitive, flammable, or prone to oxidation under temperature control.
Principle:
The vacuum rake dryer is an innovative horizontal intermittent vacuum drying solution. It evaporates wet materials through conduction, with a scraper agitator continuously cleaning the material on the hot surface and promoting circulation within the container. The evaporated water is then removed by a vacuum pump, making this equipment particularly useful for drying organic semi-finished products and fuels within the chemical industry.
The steam jacket in the vacuum rake dryer indirectly heats the material and exhausts the gas under high vacuum conditions. This makes it especially suitable for materials that are heat-sensitive, prone to oxidation, or produce powder during drying, such as various fuels. It is also ideal when the vapor or solvent removed during the drying process must be recovered. The moisture or solvent content of the dried material can range from 90% to as low as 15%. The dryer can handle slurry, paste, granular, powdery, or fibrous materials, achieving moisture content as low as 0.1%, or even 0.05%.
Materials are added from the top middle part of the shell. Under the agitation of continuously rotating harrow teeth, the material's surface is consistently renewed upon contact with the shell wall. The indirect heating by steam causes moisture to vaporize, and the vacuum pump promptly removes the vaporized moisture. Both the interlayer and harrow teeth can be heated simultaneously. With a high operating vacuum, the water vapor pressure on the material's surface is much higher than in the evaporating space, facilitating efficient moisture removal from inside and on the material's surface, achieving optimal drying results.
