Principle:
The vacuum rake dryer is an innovative horizontal intermittent vacuum drying apparatus. It operates by conducting heat to evaporate moisture from wet materials. The scraper agitator dynamically renews the material on the heated surface, promoting efficient circulation and vaporization, with vacuum pumps smoothly extracting evaporated water. This technology is widely utilized in the chemical industry for drying organic semi-finished products and fuels.
This advanced device features a steam jacket for indirect heating, ensuring efficient gas exhaust under high vacuum. It is particularly suited for materials sensitive to high temperatures, those that oxidize easily, or those prone to powder formation, such as various fuels. During the drying process, vapor or solvent can be effectively recovered. In the vacuum harrow dryer, moisture or solvent content in dried materials can vary from as high as 90% to as low as 15%, achieving final moisture content levels as low as 0.1% or even 0.05% for materials in slurry, paste, granular, powder, or fibrous forms.
Materials enter from the upper part of the shell and are stirred by rotating harrow teeth, continuously refreshing the surface in contact with the heated shell wall. This promotes the vaporization of moisture, which is then efficiently evacuated via vacuum pumps. The design facilitates simultaneous heating of the interlayer and harrow teeth, optimizing water vapor pressure differentials for effective moisture removal and achieving optimal drying results.
