Principle:
The vacuum rake dryer is an advanced horizontal, intermittent vacuum drying system. It operates by evaporating wet material through conduction, with a scraper agitator that continuously cleans the hot surface, moving materials within the container to create a circulating flow. The evaporated water is then removed by a vacuum pump. This dryer is particularly effective in the chemical industry for drying organic semi-finished products and fuels.
The steam jacket in the vacuum rake dryer heats the material indirectly and expels gas under high vacuum conditions. This design is optimal for materials that cannot withstand high temperatures, are prone to oxidation, or form powders easily during drying. The process also allows for the recovery of vapor or solvent removed during drying. The vacuum rake dryer can handle materials with moisture or solvent content ranging from 15% to 90%, and can dry substances down to a moisture content as low as 0.1%, or even 0.05%. The materials processed can be slurry, paste, granular, powdery, or fibrous.
Material is fed from the top center of the shell, where constant agitation by rotating harrow teeth ensures continuous contact with the shell wall, enabling indirect heating by steam. This causes moisture to vaporize, which is then promptly extracted by a vacuum pump. The machine can simultaneously heat through both the interlayer and the harrow teeth. The high operational vacuum creates a significant pressure differential, facilitating the efficient removal of moisture from both the surface and interior of the dried material, thereby achieving optimal drying efficiency.
