It is especially adept at drying paste materials that are sensitive to high temperatures, flammable, and prone to oxidation under regulated temperatures.
Principle:
The vacuum rake dryer is an innovative horizontal intermittent vacuum drying system. It conducts heat to evaporate moisture from wet materials, with a scraper agitator continuously sweeping the hot surface, ensuring thorough mixing within the container. The evaporated water is then efficiently removed via a vacuum pump. This dryer is extensively utilized in the chemical industry for drying organic semi-finished products and fuels.
Equipped with a steam jacket, the vacuum rake dryer indirectly heats materials and exhausts gases under high vacuum. It is ideal for materials that cannot tolerate high temperatures, are prone to oxidation, or produce powder during drying. This system is particularly useful for drying various fuels and materials where the vapors or solvents need to be reclaimed during the drying process. The moisture or solvent content in the dried material can range from 90% to as low as 15%. The dried material could be in the form of slurry, paste, granular, powdery, or fibrous, with post-drying moisture content typically reaching 0.1%, or even as low as 0.05%.
Materials are fed from the center of the upper part of the shell. Under the agitation of continuously rotating harrow teeth, the material surface is constantly renewed as it contacts the shell wall, which is indirectly heated by steam. This process vaporizes the moisture, which is then promptly extracted by a vacuum pump. The system can simultaneously heat the interlayer and harrow teeth. The higher operating vacuum results in a greater water vapor pressure on the surface of the dried material compared to the evaporating space within the dryer shell, facilitating the efficient removal of water both inside and on the surface of the dried material, thereby achieving optimal drying results.
