The disc continuous dryer is a high-efficiency conductive drying system known for its superior thermal efficiency, minimal energy consumption, compact footprint, straightforward configuration, and ease of operation and control, all within a favorable operating environment.
Operational Principle:
Wet materials are continuously fed from the feeder to the uppermost drying plate, where rotating rake arms with blades ensure constant material turnover. The material moves along the drying plate surface in an exponential spiral pattern. As it transfers from the small drying plate to the large one below, it alternates between inward and outward movements across successive layers, providing continuous flow through the dryer.
The hollow drying plates are filled with a heating medium such as saturated steam, hot water, thermal oil, or high-temperature molten salt. This medium flows from one end of the plate to the other, ensuring consistent heating. Once dried, the material is collected on the aggregate tray and transported by rake blades to the discharge port. Moisture is efficiently removed via dehumidification and vacuum ports. The dryer can be enhanced with auxiliary equipment like finned heaters, solvent recovery condensers, bag filters, pre-dryers, and induced draft fans to boost production capacity, recover solvents, and enable operations such as heating, cooling, calcination, sublimation, pyrolysis, and chemical reactions.
