Operational Principle:
Wet materials are fed continuously from the feeder to the top drying plate. The rotating rake arm with blades continuously flips the materials, which flow along an exponential spiral across the drying tray surface. The material on the small tray moves to the edge and falls onto the larger tray below, moving inward on the large tray before falling again. This alternating arrangement allows for continuous material flow throughout the dryer.
The hollow drying plates are heated with various media such as saturated steam, hot water, thermal oil, and high-temperature molten salt. The heating medium enters from one end and exits from the other. Dried material is collected on the aggregate tray and discharged by rake blades. Moisture is expelled through dehumidification ports, or in the case of vacuum dryers, extracted via a vacuum port. Directly packaged dry materials can benefit from auxiliary equipment like finned heaters, solvent recovery condensers, bag filters, pre-dryers, and induced draft fans to enhance drying capacity and efficiency. These systems also support drying paste-like and heat-sensitive materials, solvent recovery, and operations such as heating, cooling, calcination, sublimation, pyrolysis, and reactions.
