Principle:
The vacuum rake dryer is an innovative horizontal batch vacuum drying system. In this apparatus, wet materials are dried through conduction. A scraper agitator continuously sweeps the material off the heated surface, ensuring uniform movement within the container and promoting efficient circulation. As the moisture evaporates, it is extracted by a vacuum pump, making the Vacuum Harrow Dryer particularly effective for drying organic intermediates and fuels in the chemical industry.
Using a steam jacket for indirect heating, the vacuum rake dryer effectively expels moisture under high vacuum conditions. This makes it perfect for drying heat-sensitive materials, substances prone to oxidation, and materials that form powders during drying (e.g., various fuels). Additionally, it is suitable for operations where the vapor or solvent must be recovered. The moisture content in the dried material can initially be as high as 90% and reduced to as low as 15%. The dried material can range from slurry, paste, granular, powdery, to fibrous forms, achieving post-drying moisture levels as low as 0.1% or even 0.05%.
The dried material is introduced from the top center of the shell. Under the continuous agitation of the rotating harrow teeth, the material's surface is constantly refreshed as it contacts the shell wall, allowing for consistent indirect heating by steam. The vaporized moisture is efficiently extracted by a vacuum pump. The system can simultaneously heat via the interlayer and harrow teeth. With high operating vacuum levels, the vapor pressure on the material's surface is significantly higher than in the evaporating space of the dryer shell, facilitating the efficient removal of moisture from both the material's interior and surface, thus achieving optimal drying results.
