Operational Principle:
Wet materials are systematically introduced via the feeder to the first-layer drying plate at the top of the dryer, where rotating rake arms equipped with blades ensure continuous material turnover. Materials glide over the drying tray's surface in an exponential spiral pattern. Transferred from small trays to the outer edge, materials then cascade to the larger drying trays below, continuing their journey inward before descending to the next small tray layer through middle feeding ports. This alternating arrangement ensures a seamless flow through the dryer.
The hollow drying plates, infused with heating media such as saturated steam, hot water, thermal oil, or high-temperature molten salt, facilitate efficient heating. The medium enters from one side and exits the other. Fully dried materials descend to the collection tray and are propelled by rake blades to the discharge port. Any moisture escapes via the dehumidification port on the top cover. In vacuum disc dryers, moisture is evacuated through a top vacuum port. Bottom-layer dried materials are ready for immediate packaging. By incorporating auxiliary equipment-like finned heaters, solvent recovery condensers, bag filters, pre-dryers, and induced draft fans-drying efficiency and capacity can be significantly boosted. Solvents from paste-like and heat-sensitive materials can be easily reclaimed, while operations such as heating, cooling, calcination, sublimation, pyrolysis, and reactions are facilitated.
